Currently underway is the Bellefonte Lacrosse Fundraiser.

Ensuring children remain active and engaged in school sports amidst the distractions of technology, academic pressures, and extracurricular commitments necessitates increased effort and financial support.

The Bellefonte Lacrosse Boosters have reintroduced their popular fundraiser, The Taste of Bellefonte/Best of Bellefonte raffle, as part of their ongoing efforts to support local youth sports.

The primary objective of Bellefonte Lacrosse is to encourage youth participation both on and off the field, promoting physical and mental well-being, as well as fostering valuable skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and leadership.

While achieving victories is undoubtedly enjoyable, it's not the sole focus. Coaches are dedicated to instilling important values like work ethic, respect, and a positive mindset that contribute to success in both lacrosse and life.

Two years ago, the boosters initiated The Taste of Bellefonte/Best of Bellefonte fundraiser to secure funding for activities and resources not covered by the school budget.

This raffle has been instrumental in achieving the group's financial objectives and fostering strong ties with the local businesses that form the backbone of our community.

Bellefonte's boys and girls middle school lacrosse programs operate as club programs, with funding primarily sourced from booster efforts. Similarly, booster funds supplement the boys and girls high school programs.

During the previous summer, Bellefonte Lacrosse organized a complimentary summertime program aimed at elementary school boys and girls. The objective was to introduce younger children to this burgeoning program, with hopes of establishing an elementary club program in the future and further strengthening the middle school program.

The Taste of Bellefonte/Best of Bellefonte event is scheduled to run from March 9 through March 25.

Shannon Lake, the chair of the fundraising committee, expresses excitement about the continued involvement of businesses from the past two years, as well as the addition of new participants who have generously contributed this year.

While the grand prize remains centered around local culinary delights from establishments such as Robin Hood Brewing Company, The Blonde Bistro, and Pizza Mia, Shannon highlights the return of a "Party Bus" for 12, generously donated by DC Landscaping of Bellefonte.

Other notable donations this year include a carpet cleaning service from Stanley Steemer, landscaping services from Landscaping by Meyer, mulch supplies, and prizes from Alloy Kitchen at Titan Hollow, Nature’s Cover, and LMR Tires.

Shannon emphasizes the generosity of the local businesses, stating, "We’re fortunate to have so many awesome businesses that are so generous and want to be involved." The grand prize, featuring 18 gift certificates from beloved local restaurants and eateries, is valued at $825.

Participating establishments in the Taste of Bellefonte Prize Pack include Robin Hood Brewing Co., The Blonde Bistro Brew Works, Pizza Mia, Mamma Lucrezia’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, Troy’s Philadelphia-Style Hoagies, Alloy Kitchen at Titan Hollow, Bellefonte Wok, Creekside at Gamble Mill donated by The Women of the Moose, Scott’s Roasting, Snyder’s Concessions, Waffle Shop, BBQ by Clem, Hofbrau Pizza, Jim’s Italian Cuisine, Maria’s Italian Restaurant, Pelican’s SnoBalls, Happy Wraps, and Rosie’s Pierogies.

The Best of Bellefonte Party Bus Prize Pack, valued at over $750, includes a Party Bus for 12 to a location of choice within Centre County, donated by DC Landscaping, along with a gift certificate for supplies from Nastase Distributor.

Additionally, the Best of Bellefonte Home Prize Pack, worth $660, comprises goods and gift certificates from Stanley Steemer, Landscaping by Meyer, Nature’s Cover, Lyon’s Kennels Pet Store, Weis Markets, and Woodrings Floral Gardens.

The Best of Bellefonte Beast Prize Pack, valued at $520, features goods and gift certificates from Tussey Mountain Outfitters, Port’s Sports Emporium, LMR Tires, Ingram’s Market, Nittany Meats, and Giant Food.

The Best of Bellefonte Beauty Prize Pack, totaling $435, includes goods and gift certificates from The Gamble Mill Inn & Suites and Speakeasy, Dirt Road Photography, Confer’s Jewelers, The Silver Den, Formalities, Inspirational Styles, A Flower Basket, and a Bellefonte Gift item donated by Mane-ly Hair.

Significant services have also been contributed by other groups to support the program, such as Grove Printing.
