Speculation abounds in the WWE rumor mill regarding CM Punk, Seth Rollins, McIntyre, WrestleMania legends, and Ridge Holland.

Bleacher Report provides updates on the recent developments within the WWE Universe, including reports of Punk, McIntyre, and Rollins improvising certain segments of the Raw promo.

During a jam-packed episode of Raw on Monday night, the trio comprising CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins captured fans' attention as much as any other aspect of the show.

While the enduring image from Raw might be The Rock leaving Cody Rhodes battered and bloody in the parking lot, the segment featuring Punk, McIntyre, and Rollins also left a lasting impression.

According to a report from Fightful Select (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News), the participants were provided with a "general outline" for the segment, but they were also granted some creative freedom and opted to "just go for it and see what happens."

The segment kicked off with Punk's return to WWE programming, following his recovery from a torn triceps suffered during the men's Royal Rumble match in January.

Punk was greeted with a hero's welcome in his hometown of Chicago, but McIntyre, who has taken advantage of Punk's absence by stepping up to challenge Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, interrupted him.

After some verbal sparring between Punk and McIntyre, Rollins made his entrance and joined the fray.

The segment featured numerous humorous and jaw-dropping lines, captivating fans and leaving them hanging on every word uttered by Punk, McIntyre, and Rollins.

The primary objective of the segment was to establish Punk's role at WrestleMania, considering he is not yet medically cleared to compete.

Since Punk has had past issues with both Rollins and McIntyre and is expected to engage in a rivalry with one or both of them upon his return, it was decided that Punk would provide commentary for their world title match at WrestleMania.

While McIntyre vs. Rollins was already one of the most anticipated matches on the card, adding the element of Punk's unpredictable commentary into the mix could elevate it to a show-stealing level.

Many Legends to Reportedly Be on Hand for WrestleMania 40

The inclusion of iconic wrestlers has always been a significant aspect of WrestleMania, and it appears that tradition will continue for the 40th edition of the Showcase of the Immortals.

As reported by PWInsider.com (via Carrier), WWE has extended invitations to several legendary Superstars to attend the WrestleMania festivities in Philadelphia. Among them are Jerry "The King" Lawler, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Alundra Blayze, Rikishi, Michelle McCool, Kane, JBL, Ron Simmons, and Jimmy Hart.

While it's possible that any or all of them may make appearances during WrestleMania in some capacity, WWE may also want them on hand to witness the show and potentially participate in autograph signings.

These legends might not be the only ones in town for WrestleMania, as rumors suggest that some of the biggest stars in WWE history could also be involved.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Mukherjee of Ringside News), WWE is considering utilizing "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, John Cena, and The Undertaker in some capacity. However, Meltzer noted that their involvement at WrestleMania is contingent upon their approval of the proposed ideas.

During The Rock's altercation with Rhodes at the conclusion of Raw on Monday, a production truck featuring images of Austin and Cena was visible in the background. This led some fans to speculate that it was a deliberate hint of what's to come at WrestleMania. WrestleVotes further fueled these speculations by suggesting that everything in WWE is orchestrated with purpose.

If Austin and Cena do play a role in the undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Rhodes and Roman Reigns, it would elevate an already monumental match to an even greater level of significance and memorability.

Holland's Retirement Promo on NXT Reportedly Part of a Storyline

The promo delivered by Ridge Holland on Tuesday's edition of NXT, where he declared his intention to step away from in-ring competition, is said to be a scripted storyline development rather than a genuine retirement announcement.

As per information from Fightful Select (via Carrier), Holland's involvement in this storyline has been driven by his enthusiasm, indicating that he is not genuinely departing from WWE or the world of professional wrestling.

Holland made his return to NXT a few months ago, expressing that his comeback was motivated by a desire to rediscover himself following a series of unfortunate incidents on the main roster, including matches that resulted in injuries to other wrestlers.

In his initial significant matchup upon returning to NXT, Holland squared off against NXT champion Ilja Dragunov, resulting in Dragunov needing to be stretchered away.

This development generated buzz among fans, who initially questioned whether Dragunov's injury was genuine. However, it was later revealed that Dragunov was uninjured, and the incident was part of Holland's character progression.

Following this, Holland engaged in a feud with Gallus and found himself targeted by Shawn Spears upon Spears' WWE comeback. This culminated in Spears defeating Holland in a singles match on the March 12 episode of NXT.
