Suns Secure Overtime Victory Against Nuggets in Hard-Fought Battle

In a game that extended beyond the regular 48 minutes, the Phoenix Suns clinched a hard-fought victory against the Denver Nuggets, ending the Nuggets' six-game winning streak. Despite missing Devin Booker, the Suns emerged triumphant with a 117-107 overtime win, elevating their season record to 36-26 and maintaining an undefeated 3-0 record in overtime matches.

The first quarter concluded with the Nuggets holding a 32-28 lead, marked by a buzzer-beating off-balance three-pointer from Nikola Jokic. However, the Suns rallied in the second quarter, orchestrating a 19-1 run and outscoring the Nuggets by 19 points to secure a 65-50 lead at halftime. Grayson Allen played a significant role, ending the first half with 22 points, shooting a perfect 6-6 from beyond the arc.

While Jokic struggled in the second quarter with just three points, Jamal Murray was the lone Nuggets player in double digits at halftime. The Suns extended their lead to 20 points early in the third quarter, but the Nuggets capitalized on Jusuf Nurkic's foul trouble, reducing the deficit to nine points at 90-81 heading into the fourth quarter.

Denver continued their comeback, narrowing the gap to just two points with 2:28 remaining in regulation. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's three-pointer gave the Nuggets a 100-99 lead, prompting a timeout from Suns' coach Frank Vogel. A late surge, including a crucial three-pointer from Kevin Durant, leveled the score at 102-102, leading to overtime.

In the extra period, the Suns seized an early lead and maintained their advantage, ultimately overcoming the Nuggets. Kevin Durant's stellar performance with 35 points led the Suns, while Grayson Allen's 28 points played a pivotal role. Phoenix's defensive efforts, forcing 15 turnovers and out-rebounding the Nuggets 52-51, contributed to their success.

Despite Nikola Jokic's impressive 25 points and 16 rebounds, the Nuggets fell short, with key contributions from Jamal Murray (28) and Michael Porter Jr. (20) in scoring. The Suns' victory ended a two-game losing streak, and they are set to return to home action on Thursday.
