WrestleMania Bubble Update: WWE Keeps Opportunities Alive for Chad Gable

Bracketology extends beyond college basketball this time of the year, folks! Periodically, right here on the Monday Gorilla Position, I'll be sketching out the path to WrestleMania XL.

Greetings on this fine Tuesday afternoon to all you wonderful readers of Cageside Seats. Delighted to reconnect with you now that I've fully recovered from the most recent daycare virus that my children graciously brought home to both my wife and me.

With another fantastic week of professional wrestling behind us and the main events of both nights of WrestleMania XL seemingly finalized, the remaining card is gradually coming into focus.

Let's delve into it!

Here's what has been officially announced thus far for WrestleMania XL, but always keep in mind that the card is subject to change:

1. Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship

2. Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship

3. Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Heavyweight Championship

4. IYO SKY (c) vs. Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship

5. Roman Reigns & The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins - Bloodline Rules stipulation on the line for WrestleMania Night Two main event

6. Judgment Day (c) defending their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against five unannounced opponents in a 6-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match

7. GUNTHER (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship

The rejuvenation of the Intercontinental Championship under the creative reign of Triple H has been a highlight. The recent Raw main event showcased this, with vignettes honoring past IC champions, a video package highlighting GUNTHER's dominant reign, and impassioned promos from Gauntlet Match competitors. The emotional contest ultimately saw Sami Zayn emerge victorious, securing his spot at WrestleMania XL against GUNTHER.

However, Chad Gable, with two legitimate grievances about the match outcome, might challenge GUNTHER as well. Despite these issues, it's uncertain whether WWE will reinsert Gable into the IC Title picture in time for WrestleMania. The decision to have Sami Zayn qualify over Gable was a tough one, but not everyone can secure a spot at WrestleMania.

Predictions that haven't been confirmed yet but are likely to happen:

1. Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso

2. Logan Paul defending his Intercontinental Championship against Randy Orton and possibly Kevin Owens

3. Rey Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar (Potentially LWO vs. Legado del Fantasma)

4. L.A. Knight vs. AJ Styles

5. The Kabuki Warriors defending the Women’s Tag Team Championships against TBD

6. The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, AOP & Scarlett) vs. The Pride (Bobby Lashley, Street Profits & B-Fab) in an 8-Person Mixed Tag Team Match

Jey Uso has officially challenged Jimmy Uso for a match that has been anticipated since SummerSlam. Though not confirmed yet, it's expected that Jimmy will accept, making their dream match a reality at WrestleMania XL. L.A. Knight, while not currently in any title picture, is set to face AJ Styles, and a victory could propel him into United States Championship contention, especially if Logan Paul retains the title.

Karrion Kross made intriguing remarks this week, sparking speculation about the possibility of a long-anticipated solo push for Montez Ford. While it's too early to definitively say, Kross's words have introduced a new layer of intrigue into the ongoing rivalry between the Final Testament and The Pride.

WWE's Tag Team divisions are currently in the Play-in Round, featuring teams like DIY, Indus Sher, New Day, The Creed Brothers, Awesome Truth, Alpha Academy, New Catch Republic, A-Town Down Under, Pretty Deadly, AOP, Street Profits, and others vying to qualify for WrestleMania's 6-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match.
